Who We Are
Candle Mountain Charity is a 501c(3) organization that provides quality education in Morne Chandelle, Haiti. Our mission began in 1978 when Jean B.D. Celestin and his wife, Dr. Rose Marie Celestin, established Institution Mixte Evangelique C. Celeste de Morne Chadelle, the first school to serve the 30,000 residents in the region.
Milestones
In the beginning, we offered primary education to students between the ages of 6-13 years old. Today, our school is home to more than 300 students across primary and secondary education levels and has been recognized by the Minister of Education of Haiti since 2010. Over the past 30 years, we have graduated more than 2,000 students who have gone on to build successful careers in Finance, Medicine, Law, Technology, and Engineering.

Post-Earthquake Era:
Following the catastrophic earthquake that destroyed many parts of the island in 2010, our students were left without a proper learning environment. Makeshift rooms divided by benches became the new classroom until we could provide resources for our students to learn and grow in the classroom.
